Sheer Draperies

                          Sheer Draperies

Want the perfect union of light control and elegance to your window treatment?  Choose sheer draperies!

Sheer draperies allow soft diffused sunlight to enter your room.  They reduce glare and heat and substantially increase the comfort of your home.  They will also enhance the privacy of your room without depriving you of light.

They can enhance the energy efficiency of your home over bare windows, and can reduce your heating bills, although not nearly to the same extent as heavier and more energy efficient fabric.  If energy efficiency and energy savings is a priority, you should really pair your sheer draperies with a heavier insulated fabric.

There are other reasons to pair sheer draperies with heavier fabric.  They tend to give your window treatment a more formal look.  Indeed, nothing dresses up a room and gives an air of sophistication and class more than sheer draperies.  Moreover, pairing sheer draperies with blackout draperies can give you greater light control options. When you want total light control and darkness, you pull the blackout draperies closed.  But when you want soft light to enter your room, you pull them back and let your lovely sheer draperies be your only covering.

One of the distinguishing qualities of sheer draperies is that their appearance changes as the time of day changes.  They are also excellent choices where your window does not have a good view.  By using sheer draperies, you have diffused the outside world and given it a dreamy quality while bringing warmth and light into your home and emphasizing the rooms of your home that the light suffuses.

Sheer draperies generally come either in rod pocket design or pinch pleated design.  Their functional benefits are generally the same, and turn more on the nature and quality of the sheer drapery material.  So choose the design based on your taste and the décor of your home.
